Week 5- Quarantine Part 1

Hallo! Wie geht es Ihnen??
It has been a super eventful week! We finished up the MTC on Saturday and had a great last weekend with my family. Monday at 3:45 I left home to fly to England! It was hard leaving and felt unreal, but I know that this is what I am meant to do. I flew from Manchester, NH to Chicago where I met up with a bunch of other missionaries, and finally got to meet the other Elders from my MTC district and we all flew overnight to London. After a long layover there, we finally flew to Manchester, England! We arrived at the MTC Tuesday evening where we were then put into our isolation groups.
I originally thought I would be with the 3 elders from my district, but I am now with Elder Jensen. It was a shock at first having to live in a small room with one other missionary I had never met for a full 2 weeks, but it has actually been great! We get along well and the past 3 days have actually flown by! We only have 2, 30 minute blocks of outside time where we have to stay within a certain zone, and besides that we strictly have to stay in our room. We are brought dinner, but besides that we have to make breakfast and lunch in our tiny kitchen with whatever food they give us. We were given some eggs yesterday, but we don't have a stove to cook them on, so we decided to hard boil them in our electric kettle, and surprisingly it worked very well! It sometimes feels like prison, but they said if any of us were exposed to Corona, that we wouldn't be able to go to Germany and would be sent home because of the laws. During the day we study German, the scriptures, and have devotionals. It gets boring sometimes but Elder Jensen has definitely helped me stay positive regardless of the strange circumstances we are in. I had a comp study this morning with an experienced Elder already in our mission. He told me all about the mission, the food, the people, and now I am stoked that I actually get to go! I hope you are all well, feel free to email me (it gets boring only talking to one other person sometimes), but for now, tchüss!!
