Week 11- First Area: Wettingen, Switzerland
This has been a very exciting week! Last week, in quarantine in Munich, we spent lots of time practicing German, cooking, and had lots of lessons with people that Elder Coleman knew from his past areas! We met with an Austrian man named Helmut almost every day. It was helpful to hear a native speak, and realize how much I still need to improve. I could pick out some words and put some phrases together, but I there were lots I couldn't understand. Helmut was very patient with us though and let us practice teaching him.
We had a call on Thursday night with our Mission President to find out who our trainers and areas would be. I found out that my trainer/new comp is Elder Field and that we would be going to Wettingen, Switzerland! I was and am excited beyond words!
After 5 days in quarantine, we got a covid test which meant that we got to see some of Munich! It was so cool to be out of our apartment and see more of Germany!
We got our covid results back yesterday morning: negative. We had a short time to pack everything and then start going to the Bahnhof (Train Station). Me and Sister Farris, who was in my MTC district, had a 4 hour train ride to Zurich, where I then met up with Elder Field! We took another train, and arrived here in Wettingen! I haven't seen much of it yet, but it seems really cool here!
Today for P-Day (preparation day) we went to a mountain called "Stoos". There was a really cool gondola that went almost vertically up the mountain. It was amazing! It was the type of view that people only dream of. It was a great way to start my first day in the field. I'm so excited to be here and start loving and serving the people!
Ich bin sehr dankbar für die Gelegenheit in Sweiss zu sein! Ich weiß das das Evangelium wahr ist!
(I am very grateful for the opportunity to be in Switzerland! I know that the Gospel is true!)
