Week 8- Joy in the Unknown
It also snowed a couple times this week! We had a bunch of snowball fights and made some snowmen which was super fun!
We had a bunch of devotionals with missionaries from our mission which has been amazing! They told us about how much people have been praying for us and waiting for our arrival. One missionary also told us how he was called to our mission Persian speaking because of the high numbers of refugees from the Middle East that are there. He said that he spoke no German when he started, but now can speak Persian, but also German just from living there and working hard at it. That has definitely brought me some hope knowing that though my German isn't great yet, that it can and will be. I'm so excited to get into the field!
Still no exact date of when we will be leaving for Germany. Their borders are closed now, but may open on January 6th. But it isn't a definite yet. There is also the possibility that we may get reassigned in England for the time being if they don't open up their borders. With all of this in mind, I was studying today about finding joy in our trials. I found this quote this morning that I really liked from a General Comference talk and it says, "In a paradoxical way, afflictions and sorrow prepare us to experience joy if we will trust in the Lord and His plan for us." I love this quote so much! Even though being in quarantine for almost 3 weeks now has been hard, it is only going to make getting to Germany that much better! Even though life can get hard, as we trust that He has a plan for us, we can find joy in every circumstance.
Hope you are all well! Ich weiß das die Evangelium wahr ist! Ich bin sehr dankbar für alle die Segnungen in meine Leben! Bis später!
