First Taste of Success

This week has been so different but so good! Last Wednesday was transfer day, so Elder Field went home. It was sad, but I was excited for him. On transfer day, tons of people go through Zurich Main Station to get to their new areas. I got to meet tons of new people, and meet people I had only ever met online (Elder Noble from my MTC District).

My new temporary comp, Elder Gallacher, is awesome. He works hard, is confident, and most of all, is witty. Him being from Scotland has also caused some funny language issues, where I either can't understand something he says because of his accent or some type of phrase I have never heard of. But it's been an amazing week!
Now that Elder Field is gone, I am in charge of contacting members and less actives to set up appointments and everything. It has actually been great because I feel like I am more involved and know the members of my ward better. We have had lots of amazing meal appointments, and I am finally at the point where I am completely comfortable hearing and following conversations in German, even if I can't understand every word. Luckily almost every Swiss person speaks English too, which is very helpful sometimes.

This week we actually found somebody who is interested in learning more! We had decided to go street contacting for a couple hours, so we went into Baden and started approaching people. After about 2.5 hours, we had had some good discussions with people, but hadn't found anyone who was actually interested. I was tired, but we decided we would try for another hour. The next guy we stopped looked to be around my age and Elder Gallacher started talking with him. After about 10 minutes of talking with him, we found out that his name is Eric, he is from the Italian part of Switzerland, so his English is better than his German, and he is actually 28 ðŸ˜‚. He asked if we wanted to walk with him, so we gladly obliged. We talked about his life, things he's interested in, questions he had about the church, and after 15 minutes of walking, he agreed to come to church! And the next day, he actually did! It was great! He had lots of questions again and we showed him around the church. He wants to meet again this week!

I definitely felt like I learned a ton, grew a ton, and had lots of success this week. I definitely saw the importance of persistence and hard work and that as we put in our best efforts that the Lord will bless us.
