New Transfer, New Companion, and a Mosque

This past week marked the first week of a new transfer! Elder Davis left on Wednesday, and I got my new companion Elder Yospe. He is a great missionary! We have been able to be super busy and work really hard this week. We deep cleaned our whole apartment, started the process of getting our licenses translated, went finding on the streets, and met lots of people from the ward!

The highlight of my week, and probably most interesting experience of my mission so far, was going to a Muslim mosque. To give background, we were going through the old contacts on our phone, and found this man, Amir. We began talking to him, and he said he would be glad to meet. We could tell from his profile picture and had heard from other missionaries that he was Muslim and really had no interest in our church, but we were curious and wanted to learn more about what he believed. He sent us his address, and we went the next day. We walked into the Mosque, took our shoes off, and sat on the ground with Amir. He was very nice, got us some drinks and snacks, and we began talking. I could tell really quick that all he wanted was to convert us to Islam. He would ask us questions and then try to poke holes in our answers, for some reason thought that we believe in the Trinity, and told stories about people receiving visions for an hour. It wasn't going anywhere so we just left, having not really learned anything. We did both walk out with a copy of the Qur'an though, so that was cool.

Today for PDay we went to a local Reptile Zoo! It was pretty small, but it was fun! For some reason though amongst the giant snakes and crocodiles, there was a section for bunnies and guinea pigs. Very cute, but kinda suspicious ðŸ‘€

Have a great week everyone!
