Zone Conference and a New Companion
We had a slow beginning of the week, lots of rainy, cold days, but the second half of the week was wicked busy! We had Zone Conference with all of the missionaries in Austria on Friday in Neumarkt, so we stayed in Salzburg the night before since we are 3 hours away from Neumarkt. Eight elders were all staying the night in the same apartment, so it was a tight fit. We had mattresses all over the floor and one elder sleeping upright in a chair. Definitely a fun time.
The next day was Zone Conference! It is always a great experience to gather with other missionaries. So many different, unique people with different backgrounds and stories. President and Sister Naatjes always come through with some amazing talks that always leave us feeling motivated and excited. My favorite thought though was actually from the Salzburg Stake President who shared a story about how two missionaries long ago made the small decision to, after knocking on their front door with no answer, felt an impression to walk into the backyard of his grandparents and how that small decision allowed them to be taught the gospel. Because of that small, strange prompting they felt and then acted upon, this Stake President, and now his future prosperity, will be forever blessed with the gospel in their lives. When he put it this way, I realized how important the decisions I make are and that I need to really focus on listening for those small, sometimes strange, promptings.
We had some other really cool/funny experiences, like how after talking to a bunch of drunk people about who we are, they decided to pay for our pizzas, or how when finding on Saturday we did a survey with a group of large, drunk, Lederhosen clad men. The mission always throws some funny situations at you.
We always have transfers coming up this Wednesday! I am staying here in Klagenfurt and my new comp will be Elder Yospe!
Overall it was a fun and uplifting week and I'm hyped for this next transfer!
