Office Life and Elder Bednar
This past weekend we also had another Mission Conference in Stuttgart which I got to help plan a lot of which was cool. It was awesome to be with the whole mission again and see all of my old companions and friends. The best part of the whole conference was that we had the opportunity to hear from Elder Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in person! Literally so amazing. Going into it I thought he would probably just speak for a couple hours and drop some fire on us, but it actually ended up being a giant Q&A. Unexpected, but it was really cool! He gave us lots of time to just go up and ask him any questions and he was just honest, but spoke with power. One of my favorite parts was when someone asked about how we can have more faith to overcome our trials, but Elder Bednar responded by saying that our focus shouldn't be on just overcoming them, but having the faith and trust in God through our trials. This got me thinking, do I trust in God enough and in His plan for me to accept my struggles and imperfections? This totally changed my perspective and I think that is a beautiful way to think about our struggles. We struggle to learn and grow, and aren't on earth just to overcome our trials, but to let them change us into the person that God is trying to turn us into, the person that He knows that we can become. Overall it was such an amazing experience to hear Elder Bednar speak directly to us and learn from an apostle. Even just his presence was powerful.
I'm loving the mission right now. I never imagined I would be serving in the office but I love it. I have learned a lot in the past couple weeks being here and am excited to keep serving here! Hopefully I will have some cool stories next week!
Love you all!
